1. The diversity and completeness of the collection of the Research Library is mainly due to the so-called legal deposit law (or in other words, a legal obligation of Czech publishers to provide the selected libraries with copies of each published title free of charge).
2. The library is thus one of the three largest libraries of this type in the Czech Republic.
3. Its collection comprises more than 2,000,000 assorted Czech and foreign documents. The majority of these documents are listed in the online catalogue. ­
